In many of the countries where we serve our life-changing meals, school playgrounds are beginning to fill with happy children once more.
Children in Zambia, Liberia and Haiti are already returning to the classroom, and schools in Malawi, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe are expected to open again soon.
Sadly, schools in India and Kenya look set to stay closed for the rest of this year. Whether they are learning at school or at home, we are continuing to safely reach the 1.6 million little ones who rely on Mary’s Meals with a nutritious daily meal and, thanks to you, this number is growing.
Augustine, six, receives food to eat at home in rural Kenya. His mother says: “Parents have struggled for their children to get something to eat while at home. Mary’s Meals has helped children, even during this time of uncertainty.”
Although the situation is still desperate for many families, our work won’t stop. With your support and generosity, we will continue to keep our promise to hungry children.
