Romans 13:8-10

It was St Peter who founded the Church in Rome. However, St Paul preached there under house arrest and was martyred in Rome around Ad 67. In today’s passage St Paul speaks about love fulfilling the law, all is summed up in the single command “love your neighbour as yourself”.

When we live our life out from authentic love we keep God’s commandments, we do not steal, covet, murder, commit adultery. Love makes us recoil from harming and hurting others and as St Paul says “that is why it is the answer to every one of the commandments”.
