The Rev Ryan Black will be ordained a Priest for our Diocese this Saturday the 15th of August at 12 Noon in St Mirin’s Cathedral. The Ordination Mass will be live-streamed. His First Mass will be celebrated on Sunday the 16th August, the transferred Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady into Heaven at 2pm in St Francis, Port Glasgow, his home parish. This Mass will also be live-streamed.
Prayer for the Rev Ryan Black
God our Father in heaven, you have called and chosen your son Ryan to the Order of Presbyterate and to serve your Church in the Diocese of Paisley. May the Holy Spirit sanctify and enlighten him, direct and govern him, heal and protect him and keep him close to the fire of your love. May he preach the Gospel with courage and fidelity, conviction and passion and by his humble example and single- minded service to you and to your Church draw many souls to you, the Triune God.
May his loving devotion to your Son Jesus in the Eucharist and to Mary his most dear Mother, be the twin foundations of his Priesthood and the means from which will flow many blessings and graces for your sons and daughters whom he will lay down his life for and serve without counting the cost.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
