Booking system for attending Mass: The Government 2 metre social distancing restriction, reduces our Church capacity to 27 people. Everyone therefore, will have to book to attend Mass. Please remember to assist those who do not have social media or do not use social media, to book. To book go to the parish website: stthomasneilston.co.uk.

Some details about Mass: Communion will take place after the Final Blessing. After you receive Communion under one form (the host), immediately exit the back door, via the sacristy. Do not return to your seat as we are following a one-way system. There will be a box in the porch as you enter to place your weekly contribution which supports the upkeep of the parish. As you exit the back door the SVDP box will be available to make contributions and St Anthony’s Box in the Sacristy.

Family Rosary: We will continue on Saturdays and Sundays at 7pm to pray the Rosary together in our homes for our families and parish. We especially ask Our Lady in her titles as Health of the Sick and Comforter of the Afflicted to intercede before God the Father and her Son Jesus for our intentions.

Anniversaries: Please pray for whose Anniversaries occurs around now: Rosemary Houston 6 months mind and John Arbuckle.

Solemnity of the Assumption of our Blessed Lady into heaven: This takes place next Saturday 15th of August and I will celebrate Holy Mass at 9am. Anyone who wishes to attend can do so. There is no need to book for this Mass.

Ordination of Rev Ryan Black: Bishop John will ordain the Rev Ryan Black to the Priesthood this Saturday the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven in St Mirin’s Cathedral at 12 Noon. His ordination was meant to take place on the 24th of June in St Francis, Port Glasgow but had to be postponed due to the Covid Lockdown. Unfortunately, only 50 people can attend his ordination because of the two metre restrictions imposed by the Government and a few priests. His First Mass will take place in St Francis, Port Glasgow the following day at 2pm. Both will be live streamed on Diocesan/St Francis website. Please keep the Rev Ryan Black in your daily prayers this week and that God will powerfully use him to bring many souls to a deeper love and knowledge of Him and that Our Blessed Mother will cover and protect him with her mantle.

School Returns: We wish our staff and pupils of St Thomas Primary and St Luke’s High school God’s blessing as they begin a new academic year. We pray especially for their protection and safety and good health in the weeks and months ahead.
