Booking system for attending Mass: The Government 2 metre social distancing restriction, reduces our Church capacity to 27 people. Everyone therefore, will have to book to attend Mass. Please remember to assist those who do not have social media or do not use social media, to book. To book go to the parish website: stthomasneilston.co.uk.
Some details about Mass: Communion will take place after the Final Blessing. After you receive Communion under one form (the host), immediately exit the back door, via the sacristy. Do not return to your seat as we are following a one-way system. There will be a box in the porch as you enter to place your weekly contribution which supports the upkeep of the parish. As you exit the back door the SVDP box will be available to make contributions.
Sunday Collections: May I take this opportunity to thank all those parishoners who continued to support the parish financially during the lockdown through their Standing orders and those who handed into the parish house their weekly envelopes and the many others who also handed in their contribution. May I also thank those who began new standing orders and who became new gift aiders. Those who have retired and our pensioners need a special mention. Your generosity has been especially selfless and overwhelming.
Family Rosary: We will continue on Saturdays and Sundays at 7pm to pray the Rosary together in our homes for our families and parish. We especially ask Our Lady in her titles as Health of the Sick and Comforter of the Afflicted to intercede before God the Father and her Son Jesus for our intentions.
Anniversaries: Please pray for Isobel Finnigan, Nancy Goldie, Agnes Major whose Anniversaries occurs around now.
St Anthony’s Box: We sent a small donation of £129.18 to the Benedictine Sisters in Largs from the St Anthony’s box, the total collected for the last six/seven weeks. I will leave a box in the Sacristy for this month’s donations. The candles before the Blessed Sacrament Exposed will burn for our Parish Intentions in the Benedictine Church in Largs during the whole month of August in appreciation of our donation.
Big Thank you to our stewards: Many thanks to our stewards who have been giving of their time to help us follow the Bishop’s and Governments procedures in re-opening our churches and cleaning the church after Mass. Without these volunteers we would not be able to celebrate Holy Mass and have our parish church opened. We are very much indebted to them all and gratefully say Thank you!
