Matthew 19:27-29

Fr Joe has written this short reflection on today’s Gospel passage.

Love for Jesus and for his gospel should come before everything else. However, this should not be manipulated so as to excuse ourselves from fulfilling our duties to our families. The pharisees and scribes had a tendency to do this and were condemned by Jesus.

Jesus comes to regenerate and make all things new. Jesus will not forget our fidelity. Our motivation in serving Jesus should not be for reward but Jesus does reward us and not just in heaven but here also on earth.

St Teresa of Ávila

“He who possesses God lacks nothing, God alone suffices.”

St Mother Teresa of Calcutta

“We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love.”
