Cardinal Mercier on Time

Cardinal Mercier (1861–1926) was a Belgian cardinal and a noted Thomistic scholar.

“How precious are the hours of our earthly pilgrimage, since on them alone depends our eternity. Each moment may be used for an act of more ardent love, the principle of a closer union with God and a greater splendour of the beauty of God in our souls. And my minutes are numbered, Oh! The value of time.”
