Stained Glass Windows

Pope Benedict XVI once remarked that if we look at stain glass windows from the outside, they are dark, dirty and cold looking. However, when you look at them from inside, they are beautiful, life-giving and they tell a story.

That is sometimes how we view the church from the outside rather than inside. We do not really then experience and come to know Christ, his church and all that Christ has to offer. We can be depriving ourselves of so much, a relationship with the Lord through his Sacraments, through which we are transformed.
