Ascension Thursday 21st May: This Thursday is the Solemnity of Ascension when Jesus returned to his Father in heaven with the promise of sending the Holy Spirit to guide and remind us of all that Jesus revealed to us. Fr Joe prays each day in the Prayers of Intercession at daily Mass for the parishoners and the people of Neilston. The Novena for Pentecost starts on Ascension Thursday and you access that on the Diocesan or Parish website/facebook.

May, the Month of Mary: During this month which we traditionally dedicate to Our Blessed Lady, we as a parish have been coming together each evening at 7pm to pray the Rosary. Please try and join us at this time as we pray together as the family of St Thomas Neilston. Jesus gave his beloved Mother to us as he lay on the cross and Jesus unites us to his Mother and to each other particularly during this pandemic when we need her as “Health of the Sick” and “Comforter of the afflicted”.

Prayer to St. Michael: Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the  wickedness and snares of the devil. May God, rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin and destruction of souls. Amen

Prayer to Guardian Angel: “Angel of God, my guardian dear,to whom God’s love commits me here,
ever this day (or night) be at my side, to light, to guard, to rule and guide”.Amen.

Parishoners who have died recently: Ann Miller, Ruby McCormack, Paul O’Hara, Isabella Collins, Bill Mc Cann, Gerard Hollywood, Paul McCaffrey, Stuart Millar. Please pray for their eternal souls and also for their loved ones as it is especially difficult during this pandemic for them with the social distancing regulations and it’s restrictions.
