If you are in hospital or will soon go into hospital, be sure to let the hospital chaplain know. On-call priests are available 24/7 for emergencies.
Hospital Chaplaincy: 24/7 Availability
Thanks to our hospital chaplains and on-call local priests for continuing to provide outstanding pastoral care for us when we are in our local hospitals.
On-call priests are available 24/7 to visit both major hospitals in our diocese in case of emergencies. Families should ask the nursing staff on the wards to contact the on-call priest.
If you (or someone you know) is going into hospital for any length of time, then please remember to let our hospital chaplains know. This makes it easier for our priests and chaplains to arrange a visit and, if required, to provide the sacraments.

Prayers for those in hospital
Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil, Amen.
Hail Mary Full of Grace, The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of Thy Womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
Now, and at the Hour of our death, Amen.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I give you my heart and my soul.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, assist me in my last agony.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, may I breathe forth my soul in peace with You, Amen
Psalm 22 (23)
The Lord is my Shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
Fresh and green are the pastures where He gives me repose.
Near restful waters he leads me, to revive my drooping spirit.
He guides me along the right path; He is true to his name.
If I should walk in the valley of darkness no evil would I fear.
You are there with your crook and your staff;
With these you give me comfort.
You have prepared a banquet for me in the sight of my foes.
My head you have anointed with oil, my cup is overflowing.
Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me
All the days of my life.
In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell for ever and ever.
