Our first Synod Implementation meeting met in November, with around forty volunteers attending and good representation of laity and clergy…
The plan agreed was to set up a Steering Group as well as some Task Groups to think about how we implement our Synod Charter. We have invited those who attended to fill in online Volunteer Proformas listing their talents and interests, to help us allocate them into Task Groups. Each Group will meet to get up and running and become semiautonomous and their representatives will feed back plans at the next Plenary meeting in February.
By that time we should be moving towards plans that start to involve you in our parishes, schools and groups. In the meantime do please read the draft Synod Document on our Diocesan Website and keep the implementation in your prayers.
We believe the Holy Spirit has spoken to us through our Synod indicating the path our diocese is to follow for the generation ahead.
